Appraisal

Kilmainham village church is of apparent architectural design and detail. The ashlar dressings and rock-faced limestone walls create interesting textural variations. The setting is enhanced by the boundary walls with stone gate piers and cast-iron gates. The cemetery, parochial house and grotto form an interesting group with the church grounds.
