Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge, c.1850, possibly with half-dormer attic. In use, 1903. Now disused. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stack, and remains of rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Unpainted rendered walls with rendered band to eaves. Square-headed window openings with fittings not visible. Square-headed door opening with lintel, and fittings not visible. Set back from line of road in grounds shared with Clonmore House with hedge boundary to perimeter of partitioned site having iron gate.
Possibly superseding an earlier range indicated nearby on archival editions of the Ordnance Survey a small-scale gate lodge of modest architectural design aspirations retains the original composition attributes together with evidence of substantial quantities of the historic fabric despite having been long decommissioned. Forming a neat self-contained group with an attendant gateway (12404222/KK-42-22) the resulting ensemble makes a positive visual impression at the entrance to the grounds of the Clonmore House estate.
