Detached four-bay two-storey farmhouse, c.1825, with single-bay two-storey advanced entrance bay, and single-bay single-storey end bay to left. Refenestrated. Pitched slate roofs with clay ridge tiles, red brick Running bond chimney stack (rendered chimney stack to end bay), and iron rainwater goods on overhanging rendered eaves having iron ties. Painted lime rendered walls over random rubble stone construction. Square-headed window openings with painted cut-limestone sills, rendered surrounds, and replacement uPVC casement windows. Square-headed door opening with replacement timber panelled door. Set in own grounds. (ii) Detached two-bay single-storey outbuilding with half-attic, c.1825. Part reroofed. Pitched slate roof with section of replacement artificial slate, clay ridge tiles, and no rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Painted fine roughcast lime rendered walls over random rubble stone construction. Square-headed slit-style window openings with concealed dressings, and no fittings visible. Square-headed door openings with concealed lintels, and timber doors with one having iron gate.
A modest-scale farmhouse stylistically reminiscent of a contemporary (c.1825) range (12404203/KK-42-03) on the opposite side of the road, thereby identifying a design type particular to the locality. Retaining the essential composition attributes together with substantial quantities of the historic fabric the external expression of the house has not benefited from the insertion of inappropriate replacement fittings to many of the openings. An attendant outbuilding of comparably modest quality enhances the group and setting values of the site in a rural setting.
