Description

Detached three-bay two-storey farmhouse, c.1900, possibly incorporating fabric of earlier range, pre-1840, on site with single-bay single-storey end bay to left. Pitched slate roofs with clay ridge tiles, red brick Running bond chimney stacks, rendered coping, and cast-iron rainwater goods on slightly overhanging rendered eaves. Painted roughcast walls. Square-headed window openings with painted cut-stone sills, rendered surrounds, and two-over-two timber sash windows. Set back from line of road in own grounds with unpainted roughcast boundary wall to perimeter of site having rendered piers, and iron gates.

Appraisal

A pleasant modest-scale house retaining the original form and massing together with most of the early fabric, thereby contributing positively to the historic character of the locality.
