Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge, extant 1900, on a rectangular plan. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles centred on rendered chimney stack having concrete capping, and no rainwater goods surviving on rendered eaves. Rendered walls on rendered plinth with quoins to corners. Square-headed central door opening in camber- or segmental-headed recess with concealed dressings framing replacement glazed uPVC panelled door. Square-headed flanking window openings in camber- or segmental-headed recesses with cut-limestone sills, and concealed dressings framing casement windows having cast-iron glazing bars. Set back from line of road opposite entrance to grounds of Foulkscourt House.
A gate lodge forming part of a self-contained group alongside an opposing gateway (see 12400814) with the resulting ensemble making pleasing visual statement in a rural street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Foulkscourt House estate.
