Detached four-bay two-storey farmhouse, c.1900, possibly incorporating fabric of earlier range, pre-1840, on site with single-bay single-storey flat-roofed advanced porch to ground floor. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, red brick Running bond chimney stack having stringcourse, rendered coping, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Unpainted roughcast walls with quoins to corners. Square-headed window openings with painted sills, rendered surrounds, and one-over-one timber sash windows. Square-headed door opening with fittings not visible. Set back from road in own grounds. (ii) Detached two-bay single-storey outbuilding, c.1900, to south possibly incorporating fabric of earlier range, pre-1840, on site. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, and no rainwater goods. Random rubble limestone walls. Openings not visible.
Occupying the position of earlier ranges indicated on archival editions of the Ordnance Survey, thereby continuing a long-standing occupation of the site, a farmhouse of modest architectural aspirations retains the original composition attributes together with much of the historic fabric, thereby making a positive impression on the character of the locality. An attendant outbuilding range of modest, almost vernacular quality enhances the group and setting values of the site in the local rural landscape.
