Description

Two-arch rubble stone road bridge over mill race, c.1800. Random rubble stone walls with cut-stone triangular cut-water to pier, and squared rubble stone coping to parapets. Two segmental arches with squared rubble stone voussoirs, and squared rubble stone soffits. Sited spanning mill race with overgrown banks to mill race.

Appraisal

A picturesque small-scale bridge forming part of the civil engineering heritage of Thomastown. The traditional construction in unrefined rubble stone serves to assimilate the bridge pleasantly into the surrounding landscape.
