Appraisal

Retaining most of the original form and massing together with substantial quantities of the historic fabric both to the exterior and to the interior a farmhouse of modest architectural pretensions forms an important element of the early nineteenth-century architectural heritage of Dungarvan: attributes including a simple doorcase, the variety of glazing patterns to the window openings, and so on all enliven the external expression of the house. Meanwhile the survival of a range of attendant outbuildings of somewhat rustic quality enhances the group and setting values of the site in the landscape.
