Representing an important element of the mid to late nineteenth-century domestic architectural heritage of the outskirts or suburbs of Kilkenny City a well-composed middle-size house of modest architectural aspirations displays pleasing proportions with closely-grouped openings centred on a Classically-detailed porch exhibiting high quality carpentry. Having been well maintained the house presents an early aspect with the essential attributes surviving in place together with most of the original fabric both to the exterior and to the interior. A collection of ancillary outbuildings together with an attendant gateway (12308001/KK-19-08-01) enhance the group and setting values of the house while contributing to the positive impression made on the character of the locality.
