Remains of single-arch hump back road bridge over railway line, opened 1865. Closed, 1963, with railway line removed. Random rubble limestone walls with rubble limestone coping to parapets having sections of squared rubble limestone coping. Arch not visible (possibly blocked-up, post 1963, with random rubble stone and/or concrete block infill). Sited spanning site of railway line.
The remains of a bridge representing an element of the civil engineering heritage of Ballyragget on account of the associations with the development of the Great Southern and Western Railway line by the Kilkenny Junction Railway Company in the mid nineteenth century. Although compromised by alteration works carried out following the closure of the line in the mid to late twentieth century the humped profile of the bridge survives as a landmark feature in High Street.
