Freestanding single-bay single-stage gable-fronted icehouse, extant 1839, on a T-shaped plan. Now disused. Roof not visible behind parapet. Part creeper- or ivy-covered coursed rubble stone walls; yellow brick Flemish bond surface finish (east) on overgrown plinth with creeper- or ivy-covered coping to parapet. Pointed-arch door opening with yellow brick header bond voussoirs. Interior including vaulted ice store on a circular plan with red brick Common bond walls. Set in unkempt grounds originally shared with Castlecomer House.
An icehouse surviving as an interesting relic of the Castlecomer House estate following the demolition (1975) of the eponymous country house.
