Oghill House is a fine, late nineteenth-century middle size farm house that has been substantially altered in the late twentieth century, leading to the loss of some of the original character. The house is of social interest for having historically provided employment to the agricultural sector in the locality. The front (south-west) elevation of the house is typical of farm houses of this period and is composed of a symmetrical design, centred about a round-headed door opening, with Classical-inspired proportions. The construction in rubble stone with yellow brick dressings is of interest, although it is most likely that this was originally rendered over - prolonged exposure to the elements may have a negative impact on the fabric of the walls. The house is attractively set in its own grounds and is a picturesque feature in the landscape.
