Appraisal

This house is an attractive, long, low range of vernacular appearance that retains an early aspect. Possibly originally thatched, the somewhat uneven proportions of the window openings emphasise the vernacular quality of the design. The house is o some social and historic significance, representing the modest-scale dwellings of the majority of the population of Naas in the early nineteenth century. The house retains many original features and materials, including timber sash fenestration and cast-iron rainwater goods to the replacement roof. The house is an attractive feature fronting directly on to the road, framing the approach road into Naas from the north-east.
