This house is a fine, substantial residence on a symmetrical plan, composed of graceful balanced proportions. The house is of social and historic interest as part of a group of late eighteenth-century terraced houses that form the core of the earliest part of Rathangan. Renovated in the late twentieth century, the replacement fenestration does not complement the original integrity of the design and the house would benefit from the re-instatement of traditional-style timber fenestration. The house is an integral component of the streetscape of Leinster Street, continuing the established streetline of the terrace while contributing to the regular roofline of the street.
