Appraisal

This burial ground, established for the internment of priests who taught in or graduated from the seminary, is an attractive feature in the grounds of Saint Patrick’s College. The various cut-stone grave markers, and the Celtic Cross-style memorial in particular, are of artistic interest and represent a high quality of craftsmanship and stone masonry. The small-scale building to west, the original purpose for which is uncertain, reflects the emerging fashion for the Hiberno and Celtic Revival styles.
