Detached seven-bay single-storey stores building for stables, c.1800. Rubble stone walls with brick dressings to high-set fixed-pane timber-framed windows having granite sills to south. Timber casement windows, timber stable door, and segmental-arched doorway to north, facing onto a large courtyard. Pitched slate roof above a brick cornice.
This stores building, which retains much original fabric, is related to the grand Athgoe Castle and is beautifully set next to the ruins of a medieval tower house. Its presence forms a major part of the spatial relationship of the house and the stables and is an attractive addition to the estate.
