Appraisal

An amiable small-scale house built as one of a pair (second in pair not included in survey) making a picturesque impression in Robert Street with attributes shared in common with further houses nearby, including the swept profile articulating the door (see also 15605128), identifying a mutual, if understated architectural theme in the street scene. Having been well maintained, the house continues to present an early aspect with much of the historic or original fabric surviving in place, both to the exterior and to the interior, thereby upholding the character of the streetscape.
