Detached seven-bay two storey barrack building, built c.1830. Now divided into two separate structures. Pitched natural slate roof with wide overhanging eaves, projecting ashlar eaves course, raised limestone verges and four stepped brick chimneystacks. Constructed of ashlar limestone with projecting ashlar string course at first floor level. Square-headed window openings with replacement windows, single segmental-headed opening to the north end of ground floor. Square-headed doorcases with timber doors. Located at south end of Custume Barracks with attached single-storey rubble limestone outbuilding to rear.

An attractive early-to-mid nineteenth-century building constructed of high-quality stonework. It has a conscious architectural style and is an interesting addition to this important complex of buildings within Custume Barracks. The scale and location of this structure suggest that it may have been used originally as officer's accommodation.
