End-of-terrace two-bay two-storey house, c.1890, on a corner site with single-bay single-storey canted bay window to right ground floor and single-bay two-storey return to south-west. Refenestrated, c.1990. One of a terrace of five. Pitched (shared) slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stack, and cast-iron rainwater goods on moulded rendered eaves. Painted rendered walls with moulded rendered band to eaves. Square-headed window openings (including to canted bay window) with moulded rendered sills and surrounds. Replacement 1/1 timber sash windows, c.1990. Square-headed door opening with moulded rendered surround, replacement timber panelled door, c.1990, and overlight. Road fronted on a corner site with concrete footpath to front.
This house, built as one of a terrace of five identical units, is an attractive range composed of balanced proportions and distinguished by the presence of canted bay windows to ground floor, a feature typical of the period of construction. The house has been sympathetically restored with replacement fittings installed in keeping with the original integrity of the design. The house, together with the remainder of the terrace (22828021/WD-09-28-21), is an important component of the streetscape, following the topography of the sloping site through the use of a similarly sloping roofline.
