End-of-terrace three-bay two-storey house, c.1830. Extensively renovated, pre-1999, with single-bay single-storey gabled projecting glazed porch added to centre. One of a terrace of three. Pitched (shared) roof with replacement artificial slate, pre-1999, clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Pitched (gable-fronted) glazed roof to porch in uPVC frame with uPVC eaves. Painted roughcast walls with rendered quoined pier to end. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, and replacement uPVC casement windows, pre-1999. Square-headed openings to porch with glazed uPVC sliding doors having overlight. Elliptical-headed door opening to house with rendered surround, timber panelled door, sidelights on timber panels, and decorative overlight. Set back from line of road with forecourt having painted roughcast boundary wall with stone cobbled coping, and painted roughcast piers with replacement timber gate, pre-1999.
A well-composed modest-scale house, built as one of a planned terrace of three houses (with 22816065 - 6/WD-26-16-65 - 6). However, extensive renovation works that have led to the loss of most of the original fabric and the addition of a porch of little design quality have not had a positive impact on the external expression of the composition. The house, together with the remainder in the terrace, nevertheless forms an attractive component of the streetscape.
