Freestanding cast-iron water tower, built 1878, comprising cast-iron collecting tank on cast-iron girders supported by cast-iron pillars having iron braces. Now disused. Set back from road in grounds shared with Cappoquin Railway Station.
A picturesque structure of utilitarian function and technical engineering significance for its original intended purpose as a means of supplying water to the Cappoquin Railway Station building. Although now disused, the water tower retains its original form and fabric, and lends an almost sculptural quality to the grounds.
