End-of-terrace three-bay single-storey estate worker’s house, c.1830. Refenestrated, c.1980. Reroofed, post-1999. Pitched (shared) roof with replacement artificial slate, post-1999, clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Painted rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, and replacement timber casement windows, c.1980. Square-headed door opening with replacement glazed timber panelled door, c.1980. Road fronted with concrete footpath to front.
An attractive small-scale house that retains the original form and massing. However, the replacement of most of the original fabric over the course of the late twentieth century has eroded much of the historic patina of the site. The house is of particular significance having been sponsored by the Duke of Devonshire as accommodation for workers on the Lismore Castle estate.
