Pitched artificial slate roof to return with clay ridge tiles, and uPVC rainwater goods on timber eaves. Painted rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills, and replacement uPVC casement windows, c.2000. Square-headed door opening with rendered surround having moulded entablature over, and replacement glazed uPVC door, c.2000. Set back from road in own grounds with forecourt having painted rendered boundary wall.
A well-proportioned, modest-scale house, built as one of a pair (with 22805009/WD-15-08-09) forming part of a larger group of sixteen houses (with 22805007, 10 – 18, 47 - 48/WD-15-08-07, 10 – 18, 47 - 48). Although much of the original form and massing remains intact, the external expression of the composition has been compromised by the inappropriate replacement fittings to the openings. The house, together with the remainder of the group, is of particular importance as a reminder of the emphasis placed on social houses following the establishment of the Independent State. The house forms an attractive feature on uniform appearance in the streetscape leading into the centre of Kilmacthomas.
