Description

Three-arch rubble stone hump back road bridge over river, c.1840. Random rubble stone walls with lime mortar, squared rubble stone triangular cut-waters to piers, and squared rubble stone coping to parapets. Three round arches with squared rubble stone voussoirs and squared rubble stone soffits having remains of lime render over. Sited spanning River Nier with grass banks to river.

Appraisal

A well-proportioned bridge that forms an attractive landmark on the River Nier. Constructed in a traditional manner, the arches that have retained their original profile are of technical engineering interest.
