Description

Terraced single-bay two-storey house, c.1840. Reroofed and refenestrated, c.1990. Pitched roof with replacement artificial slate, c.1990, concrete ridge tiles, red brick Running bond chimney stack, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Painted rendered, ruled and lined walls. Square-headed window openings with stone sills. Replacement uPVC casement windows, c.1990. Round-headed door opening with rendered pilaster surround having moulded archivolt, timber panelled door and overlight. Road fronted with concrete footpath to front.

Appraisal

This house is an attractive small-scale composition that retains its original form, although the replacement fittings to the window openings do not enhance the appearance of the building. The house forms an important component of the streetscape, contributing to the historic character of Thomas Street.
