Description

Single arch road bridge over river, built 1773, with flanking quadrant walls and associated semi-circular walls to south side. Ashlar limestone parapets, raised voussoirs and walls, with radial stonework to spandrels. Pair of blind niches to northern quadrant walls. Collection of Coade stone plaques and panels to northern side, facing Lucan demesne. Inscribed limestone commemorative block facing south on north parapet.

Appraisal

A robust and very handsome late eighteenth-century bridge, substantially in original condition, which makes a significant contribution to this northern end of Lucan village.
