Description

Five-arched masonry road bridge, built c.1200. Random coursed stone walls with round and some segmental arches. Sandstone coping to parapet and V-shaped cutwaters to south which extend as high as road level and capped with flat stone slabs.

Appraisal

This simple masonry bridge retains its original form and symmetry and is a significant part of Boyle's architectural heritage. The bridge compliments the setting of adjacent Boyle Abbey.
