Description
Filling pump sign, erected c.1950, consisting of curved cast-iron pole with sign. Concrete wall surrounding replacement filling pumps.
Appraisal
This filling pump sign, inscribed 'Petrol Diesel' is an interesting addition to the urban fabric of Carlanstown. It retains its original cast-iron post and sign. Mid twentieth-century features such as this are becoming less common in the streetscape and surviving originals such as this should be protected.
