End-of-terrace L-plan three-bay two-storey former RIC barracks and former garda station with thre-bay two-storey return, built c.1820, now in use as house with disused shop having 1980s shopfront. Stream runs along eastern side of building. Pitched tiled roof with brick chimneystacks. Smooth and roughcast rendered walls. Timber sash windows. Round-headed doorway with replacement door with fanlight. Two-storey return with stone walls.
Ballinamore's former R.I.C. Barracks and garda station retains its original six-over-six sash windows with glass panes which contribute to the character of an otherwise plain structure. In terms of the social history of Ballinamore, this building is significant.
