A small-scale cottage forming an important element of the vernacular heritage of County Kilkenny as identified by traits including the construction in locally-sourced materials, the thatched roof, and so on. Having been well maintained the cottage presents an early aspect with substantial quantities of the historic fabric surviving in place, thereby maintaining the integrity of a composition representing one of a number of vernacular artefacts concentrated in the south of County Kilkenny.
