Description

Attached three-bay single-storey house with half-dormer attic, c.1875, possibly incorporating fabric of earlier house, c.1800. Pitched slate roof (gabled to half-dormer attic windows) with clay ridge tiles, red brick Running bond chimney stacks, rendered coping, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Painted roughcast walls with rendered quoins to ends. Square-headed window openings with cut-stone sills, and one-over-one timber sash windows. Square-headed door opening with timber panelled door. Road fronted with concrete footpath to front.

Appraisal

An appealing modest-scale house identified by the gables to the dormer attic windows contributing incident to the roofline of the street. Having been well maintained the house presents an early aspect, thereby enhancing the historic quality of the streetscape of Lady's Well Street.
