Description

End of row three-bay two-storey public house, built c.1870 and renovated c.1920. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks. Painted and rendered walls. Square-headed timber casement windows to first floor with stained glass in panes above transoms.Pub front has fluted pilasters standing on polished granite bases and supporting fasciaboard having name in stained glass. Display windows have Harry Clarke stained glass and engraved display windows with words 'Rustic Vaults, Bar, Grocery'.

Appraisal

The public house was rebuilt about 1925 and has original stained glass made by the Harry Clarek Studio, and engraved glass. The pub front has been renovated but is a facsimile of the original
