Double-arched limestone road bridge over Bunnoe River, built c.1810. Segmental arch rings with irregular cut-stone voussoirs, hammer-dressed cutwaters to both faces with cap stones. Spandrels and parapet of random rubble with regular block coping to parapet and rubble Scotch coping to wing wall. Plinth to wing on downstream side.
A well-executed road bridge using local stone, with a plain rubble parapet disguising the complexity of the structure below. It is typical of rural road bridges of the period across Ireland, built under the grand jury system in a period of considerable expansion of the road network.
