Description

Terraced three-bay two-storey house, built c.1820. Pitched artificial slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, timber clad eaves course and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with rendered sills, having one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening having replacement timber panelled door with brass door furniture and overlight.

Appraisal

This house is one of five in a planned nineteenth-century terrace. It is the only one which has maintained its character through the retention of historic fabric such as timber sash windows and cast-iron rainwater goods. The house adds interest to a streetscape which has lost much of its historic character.
