Description

Attached single-bay two-storey with dormer attic house, built c.1930, having shallow two-storey box bay window to front (east) and recent single-bay two-storey block to side (north). Hipped slate roof having rendered chimneystack, timber clad eaves course and uPVC rainwater goods. Pitched artificial slate roofs to dormer window, having carved timber bargeboards. Roughcast rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with render sills to box bay, having raised render surrounds surmounted by frieze and cornice to each floor. Square-headed window opening with render sill to first floor of side addition. uPVC casement windows throughout. Square-headed door opening to side addition having glazed timber door. Rendered boundary wall to front and side having square-profile gate piers and wrought-iron gate.

Appraisal

Built as part of a group of three, this short terrace makes an eye-catching contribution to the streetscape. It is an unusual early twentieth century group, which retains much of its character intact, seen particularly in the tripartite windows, subtle breakfront and moulded render details.
