Description

Terraced five-bay two-storey house, built c.1820. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, eaves course and uPVC rainwater goods. Rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with painted stone sills, having timber casement windows to first floor and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows to ground floor. Square-headed opening with replacement glazed timber door. Fronting directly onto street.

Appraisal

With its deep roof, substantial chimneystacks, small window opening and slightly off centre fenestration, this house makes a charming, vernacular addition to the streetscape. It is reminder of a building type which was once common in urban areas, and is now rare.
