Terraced two-bay three-storey former house, built c.1820, with recent timber shopfront to front (north). Now in use as shop. Pitched slate roof with overhanging eaves, having rendered chimneystack and cast-iron rainwater goods. Lined-and-ruled render walls having channelled rendering to ground floor behind shopfront. Camber-headed window openings with render sills to front elevation, having incised rendered voussoirs and uPVC casement windows. Square-headed door opening to front elevation giving access to upper floors, having timber panelled door with overlight. Timber shopfront comprising slender fluted colonettes surmounted by architrave, fascia board with painted lettering and cornice. Square-headed window opening with timber-framed fixed pane display window over rendered sill and stall riser. Square-headed door opening to interior of recessed porch, having glazed timber door and overlight with metal gate.
A fine former house which is of a similar scale and proportion to many of the buildings in the town's historic core, and is an excellent example of the architectural heritage which creates Clonakilty's unique character. The oversailing eaves, lined-and-ruled render and camber-headed openings add to its traditional charm.
