Terraced three-bay three-storey former house, built c.1800, with recent timber shopfront to front (north) elevation. Now in use as public house. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystack, projecting eaves course and cast-iron rainwater goods. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls. Camber-headed window openings with render sills and replacement two-over-two timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening giving access to upper floors, having recent timber surround comprising panelled pilasters surmounted by entablature, having timber panelled door with overlight. Timber shopfront comprising panelled pilasters surmounted by timber fascia and cornice. Square-headed window opening with timber-framed display window having fixed round-headed arcading. Square-headed door opening with double-leaf glazed timber doors and overlight.
This building's scale and form is in keeping with the neighbouring buildings, which contribute to the character and sense of prosperity in the town. Though altered at ground floor level with the insertion of a recent shopfront, the lined-and-ruled rendered walls, moulded eaves course and replica timber sliding sash windows add to its traditional character.
