Description

Terraced two-bay three-storey house, built c.1880, with disused commercial outlet to ground floor. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystack and uPVC rainwater goods. Painted lined-and-ruled rendered walls. Square-headed openings with rendered surrounds, stone sills and uPVC windows. Timber shopfront comprising pilasters, paired to east, supporting architrave, fascia board and cornice with square-headed timber fixed pane display windows and square-headed door opening having double-leaf timber glazed doors with overlight.

Appraisal

The balanced proportions of this façade of are much enlivened by the retention of the skilfully executed shopfront. The composition of this building contributes to the overall character and variety of the streetscape, as well as the architectural heritage of the town.
