Terraced three-bay three-storey house, built c.1890, with integral carriage arch and shopfront to ground floor. Lean-to extension to rear (north). Pitched artificial slate roof with rendered chimneystack and cast-iron rainwater goods. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls. Square-headed openings with painted stone sills and uPVC windows. Carved timber shopfront comprising pilasters with capitals supporting architrave, fascia board and dentillated cornice. Triple of elliptical-headed display windows with metal window guard. Square-headed door opening with double-leaf timber panelled door, elliptical-headed overlight and decorative door furniture. Square-headed carriage arch with segmental arch to rear and rubble stone voussoirs.
A distinctive building retaining a skilfully crafted and attractive shopfront. The arcade motif exhibited in the display window is a popular feature in shopfronts along Main Street and this may indicate the workmanship of a local group of craftsmen. The retention of the carriage arch is significant as with modernisation these are becoming less visible in the Irish townscape.
