Appraisal

Formerly one single building with the adjoining four-bay building to the north, this building makes a notable and positive addition to the streetscape, due to the scale and form of the buildings. The building retains many interesting features and materials, such as the slate roof and timber sash windows. The façade of the building is enlivened by the decorative render detail and by the carved timber shopfront which is a notable feature of the building and was clearly executed by skilled craftsmen.
