Chamfered ashlar limestone carriage arch, built c. 1820, with cornice, impost mouldings and wheel guards. Replacement gates.
This carriage arch is a notable and positive addition to this formerly residential street. Constructed of chamfered ashlar limestone, this carriage arch was clearly constructed by skilled stone masons and stone cutters. This arch provides rear access to numbers 9 - 12 St. Patrick's Hill, the provision of which was often a feature of Georgian architecture and planning.
