Description

Corner-sited end-of-terrace two-bay two-storey house, built c. 1910, with dormer attic. Hipped slate roof with red brick chimneystack, and gabled dormer windows having carved timber bargeboards. Rendered walls with chamfered corner and having string course between floors. Moulded render surrounds to ground floor openings, with cast-iron sill guards to windows. Timber sash windows.

Appraisal

This corner-sited house makes a positive contributes to the streetscape, due to the scale and form of the building. The regular form of the house is articulated by the render details. The building retains many interesting features and materials, such as the slate roof, red brick chimneystacks, timber sash windows and cast-iron sill guards. This house forms part of an interesting group in the city, with the dense terraces in the Shandon area, which are of social and historical significance.
