End-of-terrace two-bay four-storey house, c. 1840, having public house to ground floor with offices above; one in a terrace of eleven. Pitched roof behind moulded rendered parapet. Red brick chimney stack. Painted brick facade in Flemish bond. Soldier arches to window heads of upper floors. Partially rendered west gable, ruled and lined. Square headed window openings having cills and replacement uPVC windows c. 1993. Timber pubfront c. 1990 to Cross Street and Washington Street. One in a terrace of eleven. Street frontage, corner site.
Nineteenth century end-of-terrace building, which despite having had some of its characteristic features replaced, retains its scale and form. As such it is significant in forming a group with others on the terrace, which is in a prominent city centre location. Further importance can be attributed to this building due to its proximity to the Courthouse.
