Description

End-of-terrace three-bay two-storey house built c.1870. The house is finished in unpainted lined render with moulded quoins. The panelled timber door is framed with pilasters with console brackets, a plain fanlight and is set within a semi-circular headed opening with heavy moulded surround with keystone motif. The flat-headed window openings have uPVC frames. The pitched roof is finished with artificial slate and uPVC rainwater goods and has rendered chimneystacks with corbelled caps and clay chimney pots. The house is road fronted and at the north end of an eight house planned terrace.

Appraisal

Well preserved terraced house which despite the loss of original windows adds much to the completeness of the terrace and the streetscape. NOTE: The houses are labelled as "Marlborough Terrace" on the Ordnance Survey County Wicklow Town of Arklow Sheet XL.16.17 (1885).
