Most buildings included in the NIAH survey are private and are not publicly accessible, though churches, courthouses, and some civil and commercial buildings are of course accessible. Highlighted here are a number of buildings which hare open to the public. These include the National Museum of Ireland at Collin's Barracks, late eighteenth century masterpieces The Law Society of Ireland at Blackhall Place by Thomas Ivory and the Four Courts on Inn's Quay by James Gandon, the early nineteenth century Blessington Basin, W.Ryan's public house at Park Gate Street which retains a fine interior, and a range of churches.
