{"id":60444,"date":"2026-04-09T12:00:45","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T11:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.buildingsofireland.ie\/?p=60444"},"modified":"2026-04-09T19:05:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T18:05:16","slug":"historic-structures-fund-2026-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.buildingsofireland.ie\/ga\/historic-structures-fund-2026-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Historic Structures Fund 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>40 projects throughout Ireland are to receive funding for conservation-led repairs under the Historic Structures Fund 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Historic Structures Fund, funded by the National Built Heritage Service in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and administered by the local authorities, enables vital investment in our rich built heritage and helps custodians and owners of historic structures safeguard them for the future benefit of communities and the general public.\u00a0 The grant funding allocated under the Historic Structures Fund 2026 will be used to repair a wide variety of protected structures which are landmarks of our cities, towns and villages.<\/p>\n<p>Among the projects allocated grant funding of between \u20ac50,000 and \u20ac200,000 under the Historic Structure Fund 2026 are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Ambassador Theatre, Dublin, which has been allocated \u20ac200,000 for repairs to its stone work, including its Richard Johnston (1759-1806)-designed Coade stone Bucrania frieze (1787), and for repairs to its roof and windows<\/li>\n<li>The Wonderful Barn (1743), Leixlip, County Kildare, which has been allocated \u20ac187,871.00 for repairs to its domed chamber and for repairs to its walled garden<\/li>\n<li>The late eighteenth-century gate screen at Saunders Court, Crossabeg, County Wexford, which has been allocated \u20ac90,000 to enable its conservation-led regeneration as a self-catering holiday home by the Irish Landmark Trust<\/li>\n<li>The Church of the Ascension (1810-1), Timoleague, County Cork, which has been allocated \u20ac106,767.00 for works to stabilise its internal environment and ensure the survival of its spectacular polychromatic interior of marble, mosaic and stained glass (1894-1925)<\/li>\n<li>Clonalis House (1878-80), Castlerea, County Roscommon, which has been allocated \u20ac50,000 for repairs to its roof, surfaces and windows<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buildingsofireland.ie\/app\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Historic-Structures-Fund-2026-Recommended-Grant-Offers.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Historic Structures Fund 2026 &#8211; Recommended Grant Offers<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udcf7 Catholic Church of the Assumption and Saint Laurence O&#8217;Toole (1870-3), Rathangan, County Wexford, which has been allocated \u20ac90,000.00 under the Historic Structure Fund 2026 for the repair of its roof and associated stone work<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>40 projects throughout Ireland are to receive funding for conservation-led repairs under the Historic Structures Fund 2026.
