[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A castellated house of many periods, Huntington Castle can trace its roots back to the early seventeenth century.\u00a0 Originally the seat of the Esmondes, the house underwent “improvement” in the early eighteenth century, once again in the Victorian period and finally in the 1920s and is now home to the fourth generation of the Durdin-Robertson family.\u00a0 A guided tour of the house explains the history of the castle and includes a variety of panelled rooms and an eclectic family collection.\u00a0 Visitors can also enjoy restored Italianate gardens, an ancient yew walk and a woodland boasting some fine specimen trees.\u00a0 Hungtinton Castle is open seasonally and visitors are recommended to check opening times before planning their journey.<\/p>\n
