Freestanding Second World War watch hut, built c.1941, having canted bay to north and single-storey entrance bay to east. Flat rendered roof with ovolo-moulded parapet, and smooth-rendered walls with square-headed openings throughout lacking fittings. Set on elevated site overlooking An Aigéan Atlantach [Atlantic Ocean] with former coastguard station to southeast.
A small-scale structure associated with the Second World War ("The Emergency"), when watch huts were erected on the Irish coastline. It performed an important function as a look-out post and communication base and is one of the few military structures from this era that survive in the county.
