Description

Terraced four-bay two-storey house, built c.1820. The façade is finished in painted roughcast whilst the pitched roof is slated and has a rendered chimneystack. The entrance consists of a tongue and groove timber door and the flat-headed windows have replacement timber frames with top-hung openers. Cast-iron rainwater goods. The house faces onto a street.

Appraisal

With its low "urban vernacular" proportions, this house is one of the most memorable buildings within Donard and makes a positive contribution to the essentially early to mid 19th-century streetscape. It is marred only by the unsuitable replacement window frames.
